Once in Chinon
Like in many medieval towns, your GPS can mislead you. Trust the hotel signs and your instinct : the hotel entrance is on 4 rue de Buffon. This street opens in place Jeanne d’Arc, a large parking space on the north bank of the river Vienne. In the center of the square sits a gigantic statue of Joan of Arc. Follow the tail of her horse and you will find the Diderot.

You travel by train
Coming from  Lille-Europe, Paris, Bordeaux or Roissy, get off the train at Saint-Pierre-des-Corps or Tours (Centre). You can then hire a taxi or board a train for Chinon (10 times a day). You can also rent a car. The Diderot is 7 minutes on foot from the Chinon train station. Take the avenue du docteur Pierre Labussière, that becomes rue du 11 novembre, take a right upon entering place Jeanne d’Arc. A Caisse d’épargne bank marks the corner of rue de Buffon.

PARKING
The Diderot has an 11-spot parking, closed from 9 pm to 7 am. We do not take reservation (first come, first served, 8 €/night). The entrance is located at 4 rue de Buffon. Two free public parkings (470 spots) are located between 50 and 100 meters from the hotel. Beware : the parking on place Jeanne d’Arc is restricted on Wednesday nights, due to the farmer’s market on Thursday morning.
